2023 DuBois Lecture and Black History Month activities

Happy Black History Month! African and African American Studies has a full list of events and activities to celebrate and honor the contributions of our Black ancestors, artists, scholars, leaders, innovators, and community members.

2023 W.E.B. DuBois lecturer, Dr. Brian P. Jones. Dr. Jones will speak about his recent book, "The Tuskegee Student Uprising: A History" (NYU Press), followed by a robust conversation about the role of student activism as a catalyst for social change at universities and beyond. The public lecture is at 10:30am on Thursday, February 9th, followed by a book signing and luncheon. There are a limited number of free books available to students with ID. All events are happening in George's on the 3rd floor of the JC.
